His understanding of what hounds could accomplish

His understanding that fighting dogs were no help

His understanding the laison dogs increased his catch percentage by 70%

That he no longer need broncho breakers as he called them but using kindness and his laison horses or draft horses and the sweep he could eliminate the majority of the time and effort of training young horses.


Just a huge amount of revelation in this book. I can't pick it up and re-read a section without gaining or recalling something of benifit.

Mike my twelve year old boy had just got done reading it. I asked him and he thought the secret was that hounds don't follow footprints or the bear trails.......I had to read it again......
