Travis,Travis Stirek wrote:This really wasn't that deep of a question. It wasn't about philosophy of what makes a big game dog.I think maybe to reword it ,"If someone asked you, what line of ******* would you recommend?" What would your answer be?
Mine would be as follows,
Black and Tan-Anything that goes back to Skaggs Black Slammer
Bluetick-Vaughnn
English-Northridge
Plott-Cascade and Bearpath Gunner
Redbone-Mark Bates and Broadies blood
Walkers-Strawberry Mt
When I asked this question, I must have worded it wrong, however you answered it the right way.

Re: Best lines?
On the bluetick side I have almost hunted with or owned every breed I can think of, and a lot of cross I have a smoky river/cameron cross he is a very smart, cold nosed, gritty dog. If I had to choose I would say cameron, but alot of them only make great cat dogs. I have seen about 5 dogs from all different litters that came staight from del that were awsome cat dogs but didn't make very good bear dogs. So for the past couple of years I have been trying to breed the perfect Cameron line for me and what I hunt,we will see how they turn out.
