I believe that the best dog is a dog that does it ALL. It has to Rig its own track, be able to figure out a hard feed trail and straighten it out, bay hard and tight, and tree every breath. It can't be ill mannered, very smart, and has no quit in it. The breed doesn't matter if you have a hound that will do all of these things.

Man thats a question to get the blood pumpin, But I like the first answer the best, I think it sized the question up just right. But for my own liking's I love Catahoulas and Plott's. But any dog that will do it 100% any were and any time, and like said before that will pass that on down the line, is the best dog.

YOu guys I am not talking about dogs right off of reservations. SOme guy like Kim Laflamme got various indian dogs and now has bred them for 50 years. They are fully domesticated but still are the old indian dog. WOW. I am not talking about going on a reservation and getting packs of dogs. Jeez.
