I seen in the new regulations that they lowered the weight to 75lbs live or 50lbs dressed. I just hope that everyone did what they could to prevent this from happening by voting no on the bill

Sorry but this is old news.Fought hard but this one was "railroaded" through.Our(houndsmen) so called friends in the capital wouldnt even return emails on this one.The bill passed both house and senate with NO votes against it.There was a couple of abstans but thats just the same as a yes. This basically makes it "open season" on any bear. What they were thinking is beyond me.I argued with our so called biologist till I was blue in the face. He told me it was to make it "easier" on COs because of the weight issue.And to avoid people getting tickets for under weight bear. I told him ok then why not leave it at 100 lbs live and add 80 lbs dressed. I got no response!!!!

At 50 lb dressed that means a live weight of 60 lbs or less.Bear loos3 10-15 % of weight after dressed.You do the math.

Whats even worse with this is the West Virginia Bear hunters Asso DID NOTHING to try and stop this!!!

they want em all dead so they can cut out hound hunting all together. and open things up for the bowhunters in charleston that runs things. I bow hunt so dont take that as a anti bow statement. but this is a state of tourism. thats where there money comes in. they dont want us messing that up for the tree huggers. i know i live smack dab in the middle of it everyday i deal with treehugging tourists everyday. and a certain dnr officer which i wont mention names tole my friend this exact statement ''we're just letting you defeat yourselves(in regards to year around training) and if that dont work we will come up with something else'' ridiculous!!
