a lot of cat hunters do. it apparently gives them good endurance AND speed. the most common choices for crossing seem to be walker, trigg & july. i haven't heard of anyone using the redjacket lines like pennmarydel.

i have experimented with this a little- i dont have any now - i had pretty good results- lot of speed and endurance - give up a little tree power and nose to get that speed but its a fair trade - lol

choose foxhound just like you do your tree hounds tho-- cold trail grit etc

dogs bred to run fox in a pen may not be cold nosed or gritty-

id look for a foxhound that will cold trail and bay a coyote alone --or even a halfbreed that will tree if you can find it --

my buddy has one i sold him thats close to ten years old- she is only 1/8 foxhound-

i dont know how many times ive seen him cut that dog when bear seems to be outrunning his other hounds and she will tree it in minutes-

last time this happened was yesterday -- lol

did same thing a week ago--

its no accident -- she can fly- so did her mother and grandfather -

id rather have 1/4 or even 1/8 foxhound then 1/2
when the tailgate drops
