Now, Im new to everything "hound hunting" and have a few questions... I know Tri-tronics is a great brand, which is why no one is ever selling any....
How does everyone feel about Dogtra? In a training collar sense. I found a pretty good looking unit, 3 dog...with a 2 mile range... Anyone use dogtra and know if the 2miles holds up like the Tri-tronics in hill areas? Or even flat land?
Thanks!

Re: Dogtra
Tell you what.... I have a Tri-Tronics Trashbreaker Ultra.. it is several years old and the thing will still get out there...not the G2 or G3 so it does have some age and the battery does not hold as long as it once did.
But--- I would sure like to hear from someone who actually hunts and uses a dogtra or a sportdog 3200 and knows exactly what the range is.(and Power!---one brand I seen and I believe it was a dogtra dt 300 would not hit a dog 300 yards right behind a white tail)
until then I think I will keep my Tri-Tronics
the bottom line is test the product before you get past the warranty stage and buy from someone that will stand behind it 100% if it does not meet your expectations.

Re: Dogtra
I was just getting started this spring and went through the same questions you have now. I was going to buy the Sport god 3200 I thought it was going to be the equivilant...I then realized that it wasn't much more to get one of the new G3's (GunDogSupply.com Or and Scheels sporting goods). I know its tempting to spend a little bit less but with the flexibility of the tri-trinics you will not be dissapointed.
Plus If something happens and you stop hunting. You will be able to sell a tri-tronics much easier than a lesser brand.
The lighted collar accessory is really nice as well. I love that feature!!!
