What are you all using for a flashlight? I just got a Surefire G2 Nitrolon 65 Lumen Output
Seems to be a great flashlight. Have any of you used them or do you prefer something else?
I am just sick of buying cheap flashlights and they never work when you need them.

Re: Flashlights
Blackdiamond headlamp. 3AAA batteries last years.
How far does that surefire beam go ? Looked at those online... For the price they must be good.

Devin,
I've got a streamlight polystinger that I really like. I don't know the burn time but it's got to be a couple/three hours or so. Best thing I like about it is that it's bright and it comes with a car charger. So I've got it ready to go in the truck at all times. It's also really small for how much light it throws. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the bulbs. Those bright bulbs don't seem to last as long, but I've only went through a couple of them and keep a spare in the end cap.
For headlamps, I've got a cheapie energizer LED one I got at Wallyworld. They are like $14 and include the batteries. I've had cat eyes, petzl and others but prefer this one. It also doesn't hurt as much when you lose one.

Re: Flashlights
I have gone through dozens of mini maglights. I have a pile of broken ones. I have been buying the "nightize" LED inserts and revamping the busted ones. They work better than new factory mini mag lights. No flickering and the batteries last 10 times longer. I have gone through a few of the expensive high power small surefire brand and style lights and either I lose them or the batteries die way too early.

Re: Flashlights
This is my backup coon hunting light. I really like it. Plenty bright, good battery life (uses AA's) and if I lose it I'm only out $30. It also has a clip on it that will slide onto the biil of a hat and it is hands free!
