Good cat day!!!

Post by U.R.E. »

So my girlfriend and I loaded the kids and dogs this morning for a little fun in the woods.

The first cat was a super clean race with a beautiful locate and lock up tree job. My 6 month old pup even made the tree.

First cat of the day.....He is one of the nicest cats I have treed this year. He treed way up so he is hard to see.

Hittin the wood.....

So we finished a second race and were getting a few pics when.......

It stood up and we realized it was a longtail kitten......We gathered the dogs and got the heck outta there.

We got a third track going but it ended in a hole. I was really hoping for my first three cat day like all the "real" cat houndsmen have in this area every weekend. :beer
Maybe tomorrow......

What a great day.

What is the breeding on the red dogs?

The area I cut my bobcat hunting teeth on was dominated by red dogs. They were a mixture of a lot of things, but they came out red. Those dogs were lost when those men died because they never let one out and they spayed most of the females anyway. Those dogs were almost gone by the time I got there, but I did get to see three of them. So, anyway, everytime I see a red bobcat dog, I am always very curious.

You must have had some suspicions about the second one being a long tail, right? I am just thinking of every longtail race I have heard, (which is not many), and they would be hard to confuse with a short tail race. At any rate, you had an amazing day. We are rooting for that 3 cat day. Let us know.

I was not surprised to have a popup cat race. We had already hunted the road that we started the track on and it was red HOT!

Nice catch Don, I'm ready for some cat hunting.. Tired of this Elk crap!

I've got some 350 Maybe 400 ??? yard stories with expensive shells and safe elk in them, Watched them Walk off like nothing happend.. Not even trot off.. Just damn near feed their way out, I also found out that the range finder is a little more accurate at judging distance then we were Like 606. Elk look pretty damn big at 600.. :D Anyways I did find 1 yesterday evening at my Beginer level 60 yards.

Trying to get the old man's tag filled, Couldn't get a clean shot today.

Glad to see someone knows how to fill cow tags in two hours and get back to cat hunting.. :D
