Jay Cottom in Idaho ?

Has anybody on here had Jay (the guy that advertises custom built dog boxes in the Full Cry ) build anything for you or anybody you know? If so what did you think?

My hunting partner had a box made by him three years ago. I would not recommend him here are the reasons why.... It was not built to the drawings that were sent to him, requested marine grade aluminum diamond plate which he did not use, the welds had pin holes in them which had to be ground out and welded again. I would draw the plans up yourself and take them to local fab shop and have it built locally.

The reason I ask is I bought a couple of tool boxes from him last year and I am not happy to say the least. When I recieved the boxes from UPS one of the hinges was broke. That cost me $75. Then he did not put any weather stripping around the door nor did he build the boxes to acomadate a decent weather stripping so I had to grind on them for two hours to fix that problem. On some of his welds you can see daylight from the inside out. So if you want a tool box that holds more water in than out, and made out of some real rough (cheap) aluminum that are not so easy on the eyes then he is the guy for the job. I would not have posted this if he would have made it right when I called him about these issues. I would hate to see someone else spend $750 for two four foot long boxes of that quality.
