I think they they will be great family pets I have redbones and black and tann they are bolth great with kids and frends

Each one is an individual. In general, they are very affectionate and bond well. But they do have that scent hound instinct, so when their nose is engaged they don't always listen well. That can make them a handful for someone who is inexperienced with hound breeds.
