Wife' buck

Post by chilcotin hillbilly »

My wife got this nice buck this morning, turns out to be a hybred buck, whitetail head and black tail. This is her biggest buck yet, we where pumped up as we have only got out twice this season.

She shot at 170yards with a 243 using 90 grain nosler partitions

VERY nice deer. It's always good to see the females getting into the action. My wife loves to go but, she always has "mom" things to get done first.... I have a question about her 243. That's big bodied deer and I was wondering how the 90 grain noslers done on him. I have a 243 that my wife and daughter shoot and so far I'm satisfied with it's preformance on light skinned game but, have yet shoot a deer with it.

The 243 is just fine on deer and even bigger game if you place your shot. My wife used to use the same 222 rem that my boy cut his teeth on at 10 years old. That 222 took 400lb bears at 100yards and deer out to 200, all one shot kills. The 243 did a great job on both deer it shot this year, both double lung shots and the deer never went more then 40 yards.
