good start to the season

Post by JDAWG »

Started this little female about daylight this morning. After a short distance of cold trailing we got her jumped and it was on. Good chase she ran about a mile and a half before treeing.

Amazing, ran a mile and a half after jumped?? I have never seen a lion go further then a half mile after it was jumped, usually they go less then 300 yards.

Sat. I treed one that I jumped 200 yards after turning loose and it ran about 500 yards downhill and was panting hard in the tree.

Nothing like dumping the box on a red hot cougar track with a 10 min. race.

Well it might have heard us coming and took out on a trot or something but from where it was bedded up in a small cave to where it treed was a 1 and 1/2 miles. I thought it was a long way too since I've treed cats in 70 yards from drop to tree.
