i have a new black and tan he just about 12 weeks old when is the best time to get him started on cats? and would it be a good idea to train another dog in the process.
just turn him loose with your other dogs and see what he does, just don't let him get hurt, some dogs turn on fast and other's take longer. Maybe start with a coon rather than a cat, if by cat you mean lion or bobcat?
I would say stick with just one pup if that is all you have for hounds. It seams that one pup is the favorite and the other one does't get a fare chance.
I would look into getting a WELL started or finished dog. I have a couple of pups but w/o my friends broke dogs it would be a lot harder. If I had a do-over it is what I would have done... but I had a different plan then than I do now so hindsight is always 20/20.
