young hound from John Hubbard

Post by raisenhellwithblueticks »

I bought a young bluetick bear dog off of John a few months ago and he is a great hound he is 2 1/2 yrs old the other night my friend and his dad wanted to go bear hunting and i told him that i wasnt sure if we would get anything since we only had 2 young dogs and i had my pup well we went to our usual hunting grounds and after about an hour after rigging we went down a gas well road and turned around and to mention my dog hasnt said a word all night and as we go down the road and turned around he barked 2 well we go down turn around come back and he does it again and i get out of the truck and then he just blows up so i let him go and sure enough he was gone raising hell down the mountain so we let the other dog loose and there gone they get out of hearing distance and we go on the of the hill and there treed we listen for a few more minutes wondering how to get to them and then all of a sudden they leave and they are back to raising hell through the hills they ran the bear for 4hrs and then the bear jumps out they dont catch him again but overall it was a great night for the young dogs

Brandon, I sure am happy this dog is working out for you. The female littermate to him that I kept is sure doing good. Three of the the guys I hunt with have two female and one male littermate to Geronimo and they are all doing well. I think of a guy had that whole litter he would catch all the bear and bobcat he wanted. I sure wish we could make that cross agian but the father is somewhere in montana. Good luck in kill season.
PM me your phone # if you get a chance I misplaced it.

I will have to do a little research to find out the fellows name. I don't know the guy who owned the male when the dog was in michigan but I can find out. My buddy still owns the female and she is a hell of a dog. The dogs are Upson and Minisink bred and we have had good luck with this blood. I will let you know if I get the fellows name.

Thank you,
John
