That mule looks just like a mule that Mark Thacker here in the basin had, and I'm 90% sure he sold it at that same sale. Was a nice mule, but sure hard to get the panniers on :)

Looks like a nice tall riding mule.

I have a saddle mule bigger than him (in sig pic), and he walks out like a dream. Although his "rein" is a bit stiff and your biceps get a work out.

But for the mountains? A mule can hardly be beat. And it's my experience they last longer as well.

Catman, dunno if it's the same mule...might be. I've packed him once and he stood like a rock for the panierds...

LCK, sorry for the delay, here are a couple...

Had him out a few times now and I'm liking him. He is good around hounds and yesterday we had dogs running underneath him while we stoped for a break and he stood good.

You know, the one I have on him right now is a basic shank snaffle, that said, I am going to order a pretty mild Myler bit for him...I don't think you can beat the Mylers. My wife has a super nice Garcia shank snaffle but she won't let me use it on a mule! lol.

Brady that is a good looking mule.
My Blue Valentine mare foaled a mule colt last night and he should have some size on him. She's about 15 and the sire is my mammoth jack.
I loaned my camera out but I will post a picture for fun when possible.
I sure do like the looks of yours, Take care, John Ketzler

Thanks John. The longer I have this mule the better he gets! He now comes to meet me at the gate everytime I'm out feeding and he's a pleasure to ride. I did good buying that one! He has found a lifetime home here in my pasture...
