Breed or Buy?

I was wondering if you guys prefer to breed your own dogs or just buy/get a pup when you need a new dog? I have 2 bluetick that are pretty good dogs that I have thought about breeding, but I have been thinking about buying a redbone for fun. I will probably end up breeding the blueticks when I finish out the female and still buy a redbone.

If you like your Blues then look into the back ground of each and if one have many dogs in the family that make dogs game dogs then why take a chance and a 1yr wait raising a pup that may or may not work out from your cross when you have a proven cross that your current dog is out of.Go back to the proven source and don't try to change the VW into a mustang.Some of these breeders have spent years developing a line of dogs that produce their own kind.Unless you want to put in the time they have let them do the work and then for $300 you can buy what they have spent $$$$$ and years to create.Do your homework research the breeders of your chosen breed pick one and wait for the 2nd or 3rd proven cross at least you know you have a bigger % of getting a winner or anyway thats my .02 cents.......cooter
