Back from Lion hunt!

Post by Hi Tech »

I just got back from New Mexico and I guess I took the east coast weather with me. We rode about 15 miles the first day trailing and around 4 it rained the track out. So for the next 6 days rain and snow, record snow in Southwest NM. So all we could do is check the roads for tracks the remainder of the week. That wasn't very productive, but we did cover and see alot of country. Well, I did get to visit Ben Lilly memorial and saw a ranch he stayed on until his last days. Also saw lots of muleys, elk, and those dessert devils. We did get invited back next year. Thanks to Gary and Julie for their hospitaility and hard work, it was a great experience!!

Glad to hear that you had a good trip and came out of it understanding that hunting is hunting. There is alot more to a successful hunt, and things like weather, hunting pressure and bad luck can fall on anybodies shoulders. Hopefully if you go again the sun, moon and stars will line up for you and you'll see first hand how easy lion hunting can be after learning how tough it can be...........

Ike, I know how things just happen sometimes, thats why it's called hunting, huh! For the guys who hunt for a income man do you have your hands full. As bad as things go for me sometimes, I would have to pay the ones who come to hunt with me.LOL!
