Some how by mistake I saw a video of a woman training Irishwolfhounds overseas somewhere. They had a lure on a cable system. Those hounds were alot faster than I thought they would be for their size. Anybody else see that one? I wonder if she breeds hunting stock.

Do you have a link to the video?
I've seem quite a few lure coursing video's but I'm not sure if I've seen that one.

they were stretchin out for sure. I would guess they'd hunt sight chase. may not be real good kill dogs but wouldn't know till you tried them.
Re: Utube-Irishwolf hounds
the modern irish is basically a wirehaired great dane. the Ozzies like them pure & crossed for hogs. they catch & hold hogs, so i could see them killing a coyote okay. they don't have the same speed as a good stag or grey but they should be faster in a sprint than the average hound or cur.

did you watch the vid?
Re: Utube-Irishwolf hounds
yep, my greyX is faster but still a slow run up by sighthound standards. they were very quick but not exceptional. i have seen curs & border collies just as quick.
