Nope.. from what I hear it's pretty rare to catch one in a saguaro, but I know it has happened before.

Last year we caught this young lion on a saguaro....

Cash actually took off on it first. We were busy tying on saddlebags etc, getting ready to leave the truck. He was up on the side of the hill we parked next to and hit the track... they trailed it for about a mile before they got to fawn it had killed. The cat wasn't on the kill when they got there, but the track got hot after that... they trailed it for another 2 miles or so, then caught it in the saguaro. I've never seen a bobcat in Arizona kill a deer, but now I have. :)

Very nice Tyler! Yes those old big bobs are some bad a$$ed dudes. Deer make a much better meal and my biggest ones have been deer or livestock killers. Great photos! Thanks for taking old Hondo along for the ride! I am sure he enjoyed the view and the cactus tasted pretty good too.

Keep after em!

Hondo has some good teachers both the hounds and the hunters, but I reckon it will be awhile before he graduates I looked at his papers and he wont be 2 years old until the end of June.

I don't think Tyler's Siren dog is any relation to Hagar who is Terrell Shelly New Mexico bred and I beleive Siren is out of an old line of Arizona dogs.

Great Pics!

And we agree with another Post...it took some SERIOUS Dog power to make them climb a Cactus.

Hondo is improving every time we take him out. He's really starting to honor the strikes of the older dogs and wanting to get in the action. He showed improvement over last week's bobcat race on a pretty tough lion track we ran yesterday in some nasty country in high wind. The rain and hail started coming down, so we had to pull off, but I think he's doing very well.

I can't take credit for Siren, she's my cousin Donnie Fenn's dog, and she came from one of the best houndsmen you could find anywhere. Like Mike said, I doubt there is any relation between Hagar and Siren.

Good luck hunting.

Mike, is Hondo a Sampson or a Topper pup?

Tyler, how is his noise power compared to them old breeding dirt dogs? How are his feet holding up? Just like to know.
