SOUTHERN STYLE CAT DOG FOR SALE

Post by Poon »

I have decided to sale Hazel. She is a Walker fox/cat dog that has aged out of my pack. Had lots of fox and cat fur in her mouth. Not cheap. 252-661-6615

Folks,

This has been a very nice bitch. Poon catches as much game as anyone in the East. He thought enough of Hazel that he has some very nice pups out of her.

She is a Hound that will help most Packs catch Game and would be good to start Pups with. She will road hunt well and strikes cold enough to not miss many. He says that she is darn sure Deer & Yote broke and well bent on anything else.

Call Poon and he will pretty much tell it like it is on his or anyone elses Hounds that he knows. If Hazel has a fault Poon will tell you! We have not heard of her having any.

You will not see us talk good or bad about many peoples hounds. But in the right Hands this bitch can be a big help to a Pack!

Mohawk,

This is not a Northern Snow type Hound!

She would more fit the style of the Oregon Coastal Cat hunters or the Northern CA folks who run Cat and Grey Fox.

She would probably Bite you if you told her that you were going to put her on a leash and walk out a Track.

Hey CJC. I have been wondering how one of those top eastern cat dogs would do out this way? What do you think?

Liontracker,

The right Hound, in the right hands, given a period to adjust to the Environment should do a decent job.

Not all Hounds will adjust to new surrondings well...those from the North coming South...East to West...South to the North, all can work if a Houndsman has them and gives the Hound a chance to adjust.

Today Dad & I are Hunting with a Pack of Yote Hounds from IL with some Hounds from MT included. Tony says it takes a month or so for the Hounds to perform their best after traveling either direction. These Hounds spend 6 months or so at ea place.

I agree seeing a full bred running catdog work in my area would be something worth taking some notes and observations on. I am sure it would work after a fashion its just getting them to warm the tracks up in the first place. training pups could be real hard getting them to slow down and take enough cold tracks to get the experience would be hard. I wouldn't say it wouldn't work though desire is a big motivator. Has anyone run running dogs on bobcat in the desert?

How much do you want for her Poon I need one of those good hounds you are hunting? She would probably make me get rid of the 12 I am hunting.
