Re: Jeffs Allens Old Hank Dog
Hank was one of the best lion hounds that I ever observed. He had a head full of sense, and ice cold nose, he was tough as a dang boot, and had a good mouth and was a stay put tree dog. As Jeff called him the Old Man was like his father before him Ace only possibly even a bit better.
Tell us all about your Bell female. How is she bred? What are her strengths and weaknesses. Has she produced working pups before?
Hank produced well on a numerous good females several were standouts. He produced very well when bred tightly with his kin. He had a certain look about him.I was at a tree with and AI son of Hank today who is 7 this year. Hank has been gone a long time but his legacy continues.

Re: Jeffs Allens Old Hank Dog
Mike, Belle is young yet but she has showed me a way good nose. She is tough and realy tight built. She does best when I hunt her with less dogs. She seems to stay focused when there is just three or four dogs on the track. she was very timmid when i got her a year ago and it has been a real process getting thrue to her. I'm not the best dog man and often times I think if i could just make less mistakes these dogs would be twice as good. Her real draw back at this time is she needs to see more game. She should have seen twice the game she has but I was hunting some other dogs. One other thing, SHE IS SLOW SLOW SLOW. I also don't want to give the wrong impression to anyone on here none of these pups will be for sale. Jeff has a home for a couple and he will take one or two and i will hunt what ever is left. Mike, as always thanks for all the help along the way and connecting me with these fine dogs

Re: Jeffs Allens Old Hank Dog
I am glad you are not selling any of these. Now if you would like to make a donation on the other hand to a broke down old lion hunter who is getting pretty desperate well then I think that would be ok. you can tell Jeff that for me. LOL!

Re: Jeffs Allens Old Hank Dog
I have a female out of Hank and Bonnie, Jeff says those litters out of them two dogs might be the best he ever had and I agree. As far as Jeff and I know she is the only female around from that cross as Cindy got killed by a bear a year or so ago, and we know of no others that are left. That being said Jeff always reminds me that maybe she should be kept away from bear hunting! If there was another female around from this cross, Jeff and myself would like to know. HDH, this dog of mine is what all of my current dogs come from, and will come from for generations to be.

Re: Jeffs Allens Old Hank Dog
Hey Vise, looks like that was a good cross too. Do you think they'll make that cross again any time soon?
Re: Jeffs Allens Old Hank Dog
I have about a 7 year old open female out of Hank etc. I'd have to ask a friend exactly, but like daughter or something. She has a good nose, trees good, will absolutely not pull off a lion track. You have to physically remove her. Will strike and work older tracks, especially if you need an inch by inch accounting, but she is slow. I have other dogs that just leave her but if anyone was looking for a good "brood mare" AND hunting dog, she might be the thing.

Sound like it should be fun on the AI.. However Jeff has told few doing the same AI crap and just never seems to happen more than once...good luck but sure a hell dont count on it. salesman first, hounder second.
