Good job on a nice tom. You also have a good looking hound there. Whats the story on him and maybe a story on the hunt.

the dog is a bluetick black-n- tan cross. we had started a female track the day before in a canyon that we were walking. the dogs trailed her up into the head of the canyon and lost her somewhere in the rocks when they trailed out over the top. the wind was blowing on top and had blown out all the scent. any way on our walk up the canyon we cut this tom track in the sand that was a couple days old. so the next morning we decided to go back hopeing that one of the 2 cats would have returned to the canyon that night. any way we go about 3/4 of the way up the canyon and my female started to open then slash the dog in the picture. joined in. a short time later my blutick female joined them. They cold trailed up the canyon and then up a side canyon by now the last dog had joined in and they were warming things up a bit.
when we got to the top of the side canyon the dogs had the cat treed, we took a few pictures and watched the cat thinking about how lucky we were to have caught the tom instead of the female. about this time the branch that he was standing on gave way and down he went about 15 feet into a pile of rocks. the fall must have supprised him a bit because for a second he just stood there, and the dogs were on him at once. he broke and ran, stopping once in a rock bluff to bay the dogs until we showed up then over the side he went this time coming to rest in the only tree on that part of the hillside. we then tied back all the dogs and i went back to look for the hunters wife. we had left her in the main canyon. i returned about an hour later with his wife and we killed the lion. the rest of the story is nothing more than skinning and packing. im sure we have all done enough of that that no one cares to hear about it.

That's sweet dude! sound like you found a good honey hole.
"Houndn'Ems Blueticks" if it smells like a cat, they'll catch it.
