Re: Question for Utah Guys
My wife spent alot of time in california working for a pet store. She got to talk to alot of dog food dealers and nutritionists. They all told her that any dog food that has the top two ingredients being Lamb or chicken (not by products) and brewers rice are going to be the best feed. you don't want corn to be in the top of the list for ingredients, because corn will trigger any kind of allergy your dogs my have especialy skin allergies. also corn is just a filler, so save the corn for the cows. It is also good to change up your dog food every once in a while (not for good just throw a different brand in the mix every now and then) because they all have a little bit different vitamin and mineral content. Also it is good to add a probiotic, that will just help keep your dog stay healthy and enable them to get the most out of their food. Another reason to feed a good dog food is it will cut down on the dog crap in the kennel. So feed a dog food that cost $10 more and then be able to feed less and also use the time you save cleaning kennels to go hunt.

Years ago I fed Ol Roy and Purina, mixed them 50/50. One thing I could never get over was the smell of their stool on ol Roy, and therefore I'd pay extra to get away from that. Nowdays I stick with the Purina and Hi Standard 26/18 in the purple bag; I've also used the 24/20 Black Gold in the blue bag mixed with the Purina. I get the Hi Standard for $25 bucks per 50 pound bag and the Black Gold is more; the Purina from Wally World is also around $25 bucks for 50 pounds.. I also fed a little raw from time to time but mainly to clean their teeth............

Ike and you other guys, I also feed Purina, I feed Dog Chow but you can go up the ladder to Purina One or whatever you wish. Join the Pro Club and save your weight circles and redeem the points for checks, 10 checks worth seven dollars apiece. That knocks the cost of a $25 bag down to $18. You can go online at Purina.com and find out the details. Never had anyone not accept the checks.

What do ya'll think about feeding table scraps with their regular food? I have always done it and the worst that happens is they may get lose stoles for a day but that happens to me too.

Nah I'm just laughing about the times when it seems the coldest you have to run off into the woods for a bit
