black/tan coon/cat dogs

Post by 2black/tan »

yep, i have a couple black dogs ,blue dog and a red dog .love to coon and cat hunt .in the lovely state of oregon ,it doesnt make to much sense to me to own or waste time and money on a bear dog, with no hound season for bear .so coon and bobcat to me is the way to go.plus you dont get hammered by the man for hunting coons / bobs.unless you are fortunate to obtain a permit to hunt bear ,i think you have to be some bodies buddy to get one.........coon/bobcat hunter till they take that away!!!!!!!!!!!

Cant do bear here in MT either and it really sucks. Bears all over the place here and can't run them, makes me red faced just typing about it.

I used to live in washington and grew up bear and cat hunting (and coon until I got tired of hiking down into a big canyon to pull the dogs off a coon tree while I was trying to catch a cat). When they outlawed it I continued to cat hunt mostly in Oregon, but I traveled to other states and did a little outlawing around home. Then I moved to Idaho where I could hunt legally, and went back to bear and cat hunting. And there are so few coons here I can run my dogs on them if I want and not have to worry about them switching of when I'm hunting other game. I don't plan on moving again unless they outlaw the hunting here, but I still do a lot of traveling around and hunting. I don't know if I could say wether I like bear or cat hunting better, but I'm not willing to give either one up.

dont ever move to this state unless you are a tree hugging liberal. Thinking about moving to oregon or idaho myself. About the only thing you can catch with hounds around here is a cold!
