We were talking about aging by teeth the other day. Heres a good source with pictures for aging teeth in the feild for anyone who is interested.
Has a lot of other good info as well- was written by Harley Shaw and other biologists with alot of input from Ollie barney and Lee Bros

That is an excellent reference source and I have carried one with me for some time. Lots of other good data in there as well.

Definatly some good info there. The info on aging is as good as any state or federal agency bioligist is going to have. The only problem, that is as exact as that science might ever get and at this point it is pretty general still, unlike aging ungulates or even bear. My understanding is that Montana dicontinued pulling a tooth samples or using the teeth just because they knew that it was an inconclusive to come up with an accurate age by inspecting the teeth. I would think that there are many variables in how teeth wear from one animal to the next.
Still great info and pics for reference.
