Poco's 1st solo.

Post by poser »

Well we had plans to get out this morning but i was bein a sissy hobblin around. Poco said that he was too good to hunt with a cripple that was just gonna wine all day long, so he manned up and went looking for tracks by himself.

He called me at 6am and said that he cut a snowed in track. He went home, went to church, ate lunch. By 1pm he decided the lion had a good enough head start and kicked a few culls out to see what would happen. Nada peep......trailed the track into the bears head and then they started to make some music. A long hike later and there was a runt of a tom in a tree. He did have a few battle scars on his nose that made him look cool.

Well he needed a ride out so he gave the sissy a call. I wined and groaned, got dressed and picked him up at dark in the bottom of the canyon. It's good to know that im still good for something.

Hopefully the great poco will bless up with some pics tonight. As soon as him and rockcreek get the wheeler off the mountain anyway.

Happy huntin fellas, jason
I'm thankful for being dumb and slow, then i don't have to over think this stuff.

Great job Bill. Guess the moral of the story is we need to go to church before we go hunting. Where are the pictures, I hear they are some good ones.

Here are a few pictures fellas. Whatever it was today that made things work, which was probably mostly luck for me, I will take it. I think I would rather be lucky than good most days. It was a good day and good to see a catch this time. The lion picked the bigest and thickest tree on the mountain, so getting any good pics was interesting, so donn't expect anything that great.

Hey Poco nice catch! I heard you are a pretty good guy. If Brandon Hanson says you are then I believe it.

By interesting do you mean that you had to climb up into the tree with the lion to take those pictures?

Great shots!

Poco, your my hero! I'll have to bow in your presence from now on. I'll bet when you found that track, you hopped off the quad, threw back your hood, raised your right hand and layed your left hand in the track. From there the visions began. You were able to see this young tom through out his struggle in life. When the vision hit the present time you were able to see right where he was headed and that he was going to stay in that canyon. Only you buddy. Find a track first thing in the morning and then go home for most of the day. Then after enough time passes, go catch em'. Love it... Congats on the catch.. Rack em' up.. Take Care....Shawn

Thanks to all for your comments. Paco, not so sure about the whole getting blessed for going to church. LOL I am probably the only rookie dumb enough to do what I did yesterday. That canyon seems to be a dog eater. I am out Joe Dirt's mom and Mason is out one still. Going on day 2 now...is that karma? Desert I was probably cold enough at that point to be seeing things. Where the hell were you? I am getting excited for a trip your way. Nothing like runnin with the whole crew, still some of my favorite times from last year, get a few ready for us. I was hoping that cat would travel a little farther then I wouldn't have had to work as hard to get to Poser's truck when it was all said and done. Frosty, Rockcreek gave you a good run for your money in the frozen hair, eyebrows, and face department. When he came to the tree I wondered how in the hell you ended up there. Then I heard creek say something and realized it was him in disguise, lol. Frosty, I might have to use your tracking expertise in finding Lacey, considering you just handled a situation similar to this with Lando. I hear you have quite a nose, can ya help me out?

Shit, give em a few more days out, and then go find em. I like to wait about 6 days. The bad part of it is you have that new fandangled GPS stuff and the batteries are surely dead now. I think I may have to keep the old fashioned stuff that has 2 year batteries. You are freakin crazy, here's an idea, find a track and turn loose on it. You guys are nuts! "Well, guys here's a track, but hell lets wait five or six more hours, and then turn loose," great idea! I think we did that last year a time or two, especially that first one where we were way into the dark and then couldn't find our frickin way out on the bikes, remember that! I do, had to call work that day. "Hey dudes, its a hell of a lot better to catch them in the nighttime!", you are nuts, but hey good job. Kim ended up catchin two of em before you even turned out, and then backed the truck up to them. I was too lazy to even go, but I still have a good excuse my good dog is just barely growing new pads on his feet! Well, its time to get goin on them so lets start rackin some numbers up!
