Marshall should consider a press release if this going to happen. Might help folks decide what to do with their money.

This would be very interesting. I didn't see anything on Marshalls website about it...does anybody have any real info on this or is this just all of us wishing there was something better than Garmin?

I will start by admitting I did recieve a garmin astro for christmas. But I have not used it yet due to poor weather or lack of weather. With that said i will have to put my two cents in about marshell coming out with a gps. My thoughts are that garmin has been making gps for a long time and have a lot of experience with them. I would be a little be worried or curious how well a company with little or not experience with gps would doing making a system for the first time.

Folks,

It is my understanding that Marshall will have a GPS/Telem System out later this year.

They probably have hooked up with another GPS Company for that part of the System.

I hear that as soon as some more Lisc. hurdles are overcome it will be out!

Hear it will have longer battery life on the collars than Garmin, however the GPS range will be the same, as the ole Line Of Sight thing rears its ugly head.

Just what we hear fro Marshall and reliable sources!

I have also heard that marshall will be using google earth and satellite imagery for their mapping and it will be useable world wide. sounds pretty damn good as long as the telemetry battery life is as good or better than what they offer now (makes me wonder if the gps part of the deal will have the same life)
My concern was the mapping they would use as mapsource is pretty damn good (although it needs an update but so does the google earth we have access to, it is 5 years behind, lots of new roads that arent shown, so I hope their data is updated that they provide us on the actual unit or it will be useless)
regardless who cares because it will force garmin to improve their system and I doubt marshall will release an inferior unit to the present garmin.
Next will be the range issue which cant be touched on til we see it first hand.

Hope the marshall reps are reading this stuff. Listen to your potential market, us the consumers.

Here's a post I got of another site regarding the Marshall GPS system sounds like it won't be long now before it gets released. It will be intresting to see the final product and how it compares to the Garmin.

First off let me start by saying I'm the National Hound Rep for Marshall Radio and it's true we are coming out with a GPS/Telemetry System. We are just now getting ready to put it in the hands of our field testers and will make sure it performs to our satisfaction before being released. We have takin into account the problems that other GPS system users have shared with us over the past two years and we are focussed on building the best system a hunter could hope to have. Marshall has built it's reputation on range and this system will take range to new levels in the tracking world. Unlike the post implies our products are made in the USA at our factory in North Salt Lake, Utah and do come with a three year warranty. If all goes well in the field testing we should have this system ready by late summer- early fall, but to get true up to date info keep checking our website www.marshallradio.com

Charging shouldn't be an issue cause at this time all our products come with changable batteries that you can buy anywhere and not have to wait for your collar to be repaired or charged. Thanks for the interest! Dennis

You Know the problem I have with you guys is...You have been saying the same thing for almost 3 years now. Shit or get off the pot. You can not get a straight answer out of Marshall. Marshall promised the same thing last year too. I am getting sick of waiting.
Is Marshall really coming out with a GPS or is this just more of their Bullshit? Starting to sound like Garmin but at least Garmin came thru with something it may be shit but they produced more than promises.
