I just saw the begining of the arguement where they got into if we should/shouldn't be supporting these guys who got caught.. Some said no, since they were doing what they shouldn't have.. Other said yes, since it is just a bunch of BS about not being able to hunt...

That is all I got to see, went out to lose the dogs for the weekend and come back to no Tree... :?

That post was the tip of the iceberg, as there was more to it than the one post. The BS had accumalated over a period of time........the last straw was being called an ANTI on a site I provide for free for everyone to use. A site that may be free for everyone, but comes with a pricetag for me as well as my time.

I basically cut my losses and moved on..........if you had dog that wouldn't hunt, gunshy, afraid of it's own shadow, and was nothing but a hassle, would you cull it or would you keep wasting your money and time feeding it?

This quote was taken from the CoonDawgs.com Forum.

Sarge, I shut down the Shade Tree as I was tired with the BS on there. This forum has 10 times as many members, 10 times, the traffic, and etc...

Yet the Shade Tree had 10 times the BS than this forum. For something that is offered for free and brings that much BS and problems, I can spend my time and money on other things that bring me enjoyment and not on headaches and hassles. I have to say it has been quiet here at the house during the wee hours of the night as I have not had any phone calls at 200am letting me know what someone posted on the Shade Tree Forum.

As with the same reasons the previous owner got rid of it, I got fed up with and shut it down.

The person that bought the Sahde Tree forum turned it to a invitational members only forum with around 100 users.

In the begining I had no intentions of selling the BigGameHoundsmen.com domain name or website. I was going to leave it up asa site for resources.

Buddy with Tree Dog Wear contacted me from the begining about the site as well as the Shade Tree forum. You could say he was a day late and dollar short on contacting me about the Shade Tree Forum.

He wanted to bring back a forum for Big Game Houndsmen. I knew he was serious about his intentions and he just wasn't blowing smoke up my a$$.

He could have started from the ground up or he could go with something that is already out there and fresh on folks minds. Starting from the ground up is a long process compared to getting involved with something that is already there.

The more we talked by phone and email, I realized he would be the right fit to take over ownership of the BigGameHoundsmen.com website and get another forum going on it.

So late last week, I started to re-create the forum and get it ready for todays's official re-launch under new ownership.

By doing so, it frees me up to start working on my next project. Since I am taking a break from hunting right now, for me, this was the best oppurtunity. And for Buddy, I am sure he's glad the oppurtunity became available.

Sarge, I think Buddy will do great things with the Big Game Houndsmen Forum. He's got his head on his shoulder, he's a big game hunter, he's involved in the business of hunting related products, so he will be a good fit for Big Game Houndsmen.

I have had a few emails and phone calls concerning CoonDawgs.com ...... No CoonDawgs.com is not being sold or being shut down..........Only thing that was sold was the BigGameHoundsmen.com website.

Well old Bruce used to say that until you run a board of your own you will never have a clue to all the BS behind the scenes.

I hope the new Big Game Houndsmen Forum with Buddy at the helm will provide years of enjoyment for everyone and hopefully people will be mindful and remember the loss of the Tree and the reasons behind it. Great job once again Drew on building a real nice site.

You don't need to explain your self here, I don't think any of the people on here would put up with half the crap you have to deal with on a daily basis...

Thanks again for getting things back up an running!

For me.... I'd probably keep wasting my time on it-- But that's Just cause I'm a Hard headed slow learner that doesn't know any better!!

I was just hoping for some of the cheap juicy replay action before you layed out the TKO punch!!

Thanks for what you're doin buddy. I hope the new tree will help as many new hunters as it has me. The site looks good, especially with no banner ads. Sorry buckshot, I know how much a site costs to run. How does the new contest work?

Pretty simple, I'll Print a list of the members and put them in a box. Some one will Draw out the names for the prizes in order at the oregon state field trial.

Once the names are drawn, I'll just check each name and account for any fraud or double registration stuff(cheating) and also that they didn't just join and not post anything that wasn't productive. I would rather someone who helps build the site get the prizes than someone who is just here to try win a prize. You don't have to have to most posts or anything like that, just make a good honest effort and be yourself. I think everyone could agree if there is people who are just here to win a prize...

Everything will be posted openly, and a PM will get sent asking for shipping address. even the ones that I choose not to honor for cheating or what not so everyone will be able to see what descisions. I would hate to be the guy that is first on the list to win a tracking collar with 0 posts..

It was a tough decision for me, I figured it would bring in some people that normally don't come to these things But so far it's been allot of the old members.. So surprizingly that's working out pretty good.

I would do that part, but that would probably get me kicked off. Heck I can't even stand myself, why would I want to impose that on everyone else??
