Bruce Kennedy (Zeus) the founder has passed away. He has been battling with cancer for the past several months and surcomed to it on tuesday at his home with his wife Chris by his side.
I would like to share some photos of how I will always remember this great man...rest in peace buddy and we will all gather one day together under the Shade Tree.
Let me know if there is anything that this site can do, for the family or anything.. Along with many I sure learned "allot" from the Tree that he created.
Unfortunately I don't know him well enough to know if he was one of the Great houndsmen legends we talk about.. But there's no doubt in my mind about Him Being a Pioneer and ledgend of the 21st centuty considering the Shade Tree.
A couple weeks ago, I finally got around to making that Meatloaf recipe I've seen for years. It Sure was good.
Im so sorry to see him pass. I know when I was just starting out on the old "shade tree" Bruce was very welcomeing and talked to me alot and I learned alot from him in the years we talked. It is always hard to have a great person so knowledgeable ( spell?) of the past, Pass on.

I just barley joined the tree when he resigned, and I thank him for making this wonderful forum for us youngsters to listen to you seasoned houndsmen and learn form you guys. I may not have known him but I have heard enough to respect him very much.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God - 1 Corinthians 1:18 (NIV)
the upper photos are from the first BBQ held in Arizona at Randy Coopers, the second BBQ was held in Elko Nevada at Mike Martindales and this year it was held here in Swan Lake Montana.
We have kept the tradition going that Bruce has started with the first BBQ bringing houndsmen together from all walks of life for a weekend of story telling and BS The man was always thinking of others first.
oh man! I am sorry to hear that. I never really took the time to get to know him like I should have but I am greatful to him for making such a great site. I learned a lot because of the first shadetree. He was a great man and will be missed. My condolences go out to his family.
I think I have said it befor, but Shadetree is a historical penomenon.
Bruce made history as far as I can tell. If I could have had this forum to read when I was young, my life and my whole dog experience would have been very, very different. One lifetime is not hardly enough if you learn every step of the way by your own mistakes and no one there to guide you. Here the experience of many many lifetimes has been shared offering guidance to anyone who can read. Many great freindships have been formed as a result of Bruce's work.
It is really an unspeakable treasure.
Folks, I appoligize that I didn't get this up sooner, I didn't Notice my PM's until tonight. Hopefully there was some better communication among his friends and the local houndsmen than through me.
I encourage everyone to take a moment and sign the guest book, I'm sure the family would like to hear stories that they might not otherwise know about.
