running coyotes in july
running coyotes in july
here in new york, our training season starts july 1st, anyone run in the summer ? will the yotes fight hard because of the pups? i am going to try it this year any thoughs on this?
Re: running coyotes in july
Some do not many though.Yes is the answer to the yote question when the pups are down they'll be 100% more aggresive. What part of the State are you from? Ever run at Gene's pen?

Re: running coyotes in july
HEY tOM I USED TO RUN COYOTES IN THE SUMMER AND THEY WOULD BE MORE AGGRESIVE WHEN THE PUPS WERE OUT. i HAD DOGS RUNNING A YOTE WITH A YOTE RUNNING THE DOGS MANY TIMES. i NEVER RAN MORE THAN ONE PUP WITH ATLEAST 2 DOGS THAT WOULD FIGHT. yOU EVER GO OVER TO JUDD'S PEN THAT WOULD BE CLOSER TO YOU.

Re: running coyotes in july
I'd run a young dog with 3 older more night time experienced hounds and you will be OK. I've done it every which way and yes you can set a young dog back if he gets tuned up too much at night.
Re: running coyotes in july

Re: running coyotes in july
thanks for your input guys, yes i know juddy and his brothers well, its a good time to sit and talk with those guys , while listening to the hounds, the shavings from whittling are about a footdeep around those chairs. i want to run my young dogs outside as much as possible, but not ruin them, better run them with a few hounds, good thing i asked!!!!
