Its hard for me to judge an animal in a picture but its defiantly not a small one. Its almost the length of that truck bed...and its back is atleast a foot off the truck. So I would say 350+. Would not be surprised if it was over 400lbs we don't get many over 300 here and that one is as big or bigger than anything I have seen here. Nice bear!
Well...He was 400 ib the rocks charging and a blowing. He was 300 when we got him out of the hole. 280 when we got him to the truck and 260 on the scale. He was a young bear, gonna be a monster. Huge frame, heavy foot, long. He is a nice one but kinda a shame we couldn't have gotten him in a couple years.
We were lucky not to lose any on this trip. Had one dog ate up. He was in a bad hole. The crack was barely wide enough for the dogs to go in and out of but there was a lot of space behind the rocks. I don't know how he got himself in there. It was real hard to pull him out. nmplott, you might be right.
