True Hunting Story

This is a true story about a buddy of mine and taking his wife hunting with him. Well it was one of those times when my buddy had the next day off in the middle of the week and he called all of us to go hunting with him but none of us could. Not to pick on wives but he finally gave up and talked his wife into going with him that night.
He struck out for a new place we had been talking about so he did know the area real well but he decided he would try it anyway. He got to the river and parked up on a small hill over looking the river bottom. His wife decided that she wanted nothing to do with going down on the river because it was pretty heavy undergrowth. Well my buddy turned out his dogs and walked into the river bottom around 9:30 or so and the dogs struck and up the river they went. He treed several coons during the night and along sometime after midnight he decided that he was ready to go home. He called in his dogs and started out but a lite ground fog had settled in so he could not see up out of the bottom. Well we walked and walked and finally realized that he must have missed his path up out of the bottom. So he turned around and went back up the river to a place where he knew he had been earlier in the night. Then he would turn around start back down river for his truck. Again he passed up his exit turn and he did this several times before getting tired and deciding to just sit down and wait till day light. He knew he had to be close to his truck but he was just missing the path. Well he sat there for an hour or two and dawn finally came. He was sitting not two hundred yards from his truck there on the hill where he left it the night before. He walked to his truck to find his wife sitting there waiting and while he was loading the dogs she got out of the truck and said to him "I am so glad you finally got back to the truck. I have been scared out of my wits !... My buddy asked her why and she said that some nut had been walking up and down the river with a flash lite and she was afraid he was going to come up and get her while he was gone !

I am not sure what was said after that point but I am sure it was not very nice....
