Elephant Mount...
Elephant Mount...
I thought I'd share a picture of a neat project we finished in the shop a few weeks ago. Big animals, and a little bit of work too, lol.

That's a neat mount. Do you have any idea how many pins/nails you used to make ALL OF THOSE WRINKLES?

Re: Elephant Mount...
how did you guys ship it? pretty cool looking
Re: Elephant Mount...
Looks as if you have been real busy Shane!
Re: Elephant Mount...
Thanks guys,
It was some work, but with four of us working on it we hammered it out pretty quickly.
Actually we didn't have to ship it... A guy just a short way south of you killed the thing, well actually his wife killed this one. His elephant wasn't big enough to mount apparently, so he'll be going back this year to kill another one. Money is all it takes, lol.

lOVELY MOUNT! Very well matched tusks rather odd in this day and age. I cannot tell on the nerves but looks to be 50# class bull.

Real close Mike. One side was 61 pounds, and the other was 63 which is a nice bull these days. He wants a monster next time he goes over but we'll see, lol.

Re: Elephant Mount...
Just curious but what did that cost to mount?
Re: Elephant Mount...
The cost really varies on elephant since they're a lot of work. This one was right at $12,000 which is on the lower end of the pricing probably. We tanned it ourselves and had four of us working it over, so it didn't take as much time as one person mounting it alone.
This guy was talking about having his next elephant mounted lifesize. That will be some work if he does, and it'll take up some room! Lol.
