newbie question

Post by bwhntr13 »

Well I have been trapping bobcat for quite a few years always running across lion tracks, wishing I had dogs. I talked the wife into letting me give hounds a try, I pick up a bluetick here a couple weeks. Just wondering for a beginer for training does anybody have recomended gear necessary to train and hunt, whats needed collar wise and anything else thanks

Get yourself a trashbreaker collar and a astro dc30 gps collar from Buddy at du graphics on this site ,it's a little pricey but worth the investment, and then get out there and hunt!dogs don't train themselves, the more you get out there the better your dogs will learn.Lots of awesome info on this site, you won't needto go anywhere else.If its not posted then post one yourself, there is a ton of expierence on here somebody will reply with a answer to your question.Good Luck!Cheers Kurt

Don't forget a good pair boots that are good for alot of walking cause if you don't have old dogs to show'em the ropes its up to you.The proudest I have ever been is with dogs I have started with from pups with no older dogs and turned into top notch dogs. have fun
