anybody ever have there dog get tetnis if you have did the dog make it

Yes when I was a kid. We had a female dog that was pregnant. Vet told my dad that the dog would probably not make it and the pups for sure would not make it. Both dog and pups turned out just fine. The thing I remember is the dogs' face looking like the skin was pulled super tight back on its head. Just had a dog impale herself on a rusty nail. vet just perscribed amoxacillion for 7 days. Thought the vets would have a tetnis shot but they don't. Hope this helps
