my new houndn'em blueticks
Traveling from New Mexico to Utah to hunt with Jared Higgin to try out one of his houndn'em blueticks we had talked about. We arrived Friday morning at 4am to introduce ourselves to Jared before heading out to the woods. Upon arrival to the mountains we came across a bobcat track. Jared soon released a couple of his houndn'em blueticks. We let the dogs work the bobcat while we went ahead and looked for a lion track. As a few hours went by we decided to check on the dogs Jared let loose on the bobcat. Unfortunately the bobcat ledged the dogs up and got away. We hunted with Jared another day but the hunting conditions were miserable. We headed back to New Mexico taking back wth me one of my first houndn'em blueticks. Arrving in New Mexico we decided to pull into some forest roads to look for some tracks with the fresh snow that fell the night before. About half an hour into the forest we found a sneaky lion track maybe a few hours old. So i dropped my new houndn'em bluetick and my trusty sidekick ol'red, and the chase was on. An hour or two into the chase, the old cat tried to out smart stomper and ol'red but met his match and was finally treed. Stomper kicked ass. Throughout the weeks that passed i found a few bobcat tracks and turned Stomper my houndn'em bluetick on them, and for being only a year and a half old, he really knows how to run a track. Last week hunting in Southern New Mexico we found a lion track and turned Stomper loose once again and him and another dog of mine smoked it. Now i just wanted to take the time to thank Jared for selling me one of his houndn'em blueticks. He is a awesome dog. Anyone who is looking for a true lion dog, get ahold of Jared Higgin, and get yourself a houndn'em bluetick. You will be satisfied. Once again thanks Jared and save me another houndn'em bluetick next year.
