dc 30 chargers

Post by Dubud07 »

I was just thinking about how nice it would be if garmin came out with one power cord that would charge multiple collars. I was also wondering if any one has fabbed one up? Just figured it would be nice to have less cords floating around and getting tangled up

Here's a link to a charging station thread.

I already have a charging station like that I was looking more for 1 cord that splits to charge multiple collars so you don't have the cord mess or the big box to deal with

As for one power cord to charge multiple collars. I took 5 car chargers for the DC 30 and cut the end off of the 5 ( end being about 12 to 15 inches long) the end that plugs into your DC30 collar. I then stripped them back and soldered the ground wires together and taped them good with electrical tape, then soldered the main wires in the middle of the cable together and taped them good. You then have one lead that plugs into your cigarrette lighter and the other end will charge 5 collars. Been using this for about 3 years with no problems.

I also tried this with the AC chargers but they have a little transformer in the cable and they can not get enough juice to handle that many leads. They will work with two and sometimes three leads though. Hope that might help.
