dc30 and dc40 at the same time

Post by chsnlions »

I have an astro with two dc30 collars. I want to add two more collars. Can I add two dc40's and use them with the two dc30's i currently have for a total of four collars? Will that combination work ok in the field? You all that are using both these collars, if I can mix them would you recomend adding dc30's or dc40's?

This has probably been asked but I did could not find it.

I have tracked all three(DC20,DC30,DC40) at the same time. You can track up to 10 collars at one time in any combination of models.

The two dc30's I am currently using work great although I dont know what to compare them to, never had anything else. Is spending the extra money on dc40's worth the extra money and is there an advantage? I dont care about the code security function, although the 2 minute function for longer battery life might be an advantage. Is there better reception at further distance? Thanks for your input. Nice to know that you can mix between collars to the same unit at the same time.

If you update your collars and Astro through the webupdater you should get the 2 minute update rate on what you currently have. The 30 and 40 get the same range. The 40 just has more features than the 30.
