Re: What line of Bluetick for big game?
Someone who hunts Camerons will say Cameron... Someone who hunts Buzz Anderson will say Buzz Anderson... I honestly don't know many other lines of Bluetic, but maybe those two got my point across?
These posts almost always end up in the cage, why? Because it almost always just starts a pissin match...
Best thing to do, look in the Bluetic section and see what people are hunting, pick some that have the build you like, that people hunt in terrain like yours, get some pups, and try them...
Bloodlines really don't mean sqwat, just because a dog is out of GRNTCHWLDCH So and So and GRDCH Soso and Soso, doesn't mean that pup is gonna be a dirty good dog!! All bloodlines do is give you a history of dogs family tree and help you sell that dog or pups out of that dog.
But good luck

Re: What line of Bluetick for big game?
My dogs are Hazel Hill, Mad Dog, Hammer, Utchman and Smokey River. I would like to go to a area that has big game to see what one of them might do. Any one hunting dogs out of any of these?

My best strike dog is a Smokey River/ Utchman.
Re: What line of Bluetick for big game?
I've hunted all those lines except Hazel Hill and have had varied success with all. In other words, I've had good ones with all on bobcat, bear, lion and coon.

Ive had the best luck with dogs that are heavy Smokey River Bl. Diam. Jim and SR Cheif.
The cameron dogs I've had had everything I wanted but were slow on track.I do have old Utchman and hammer bloodin my dogs along with a lot of Smokey River.

I've used Cameron, Utchman, Hammer, and Rambo and crosses of all four on lions, bears and bobcat. I honestly cannot say that any one line is better than the other. The best dogs from these crosses have been Cameron/Utchman, but I've had outstanding individuals from each line and some dirty rotten culls from every line.

I have run Cameron, Utchman, Hammer, Smokey River, Sugar Creek and the best luck I have ever had was with some crossed up Blues from Van Johnson, Kim Payne and Wade Lemon.
