Please Help out this terminaly ill young man
I need some help Please. I was contacted by HUNT OF A LIFETIME and gladly accepted to take a young man out on a lion hunt that has a Terminally ill disease. I will be needing as much help as possible. I want to make sure that this young man has trip of a lifetime, I want to make sure that we can cover all his expenses of this hunt from example: clothes, liscense, tags, food, transportation, taxidermy and i know with the help and support of people like you out there we can make a difference in this young mans life and give him the dream he so wants. I will also be needing alot of people and houndsmen to get the job done. This young man has a very limited time to do this in due to school and Dr. appointments so please contact me and/or call me at 928-201-5221
Thanks,
Kevin Burgess

Re: Please Help out this terminaly ill young man
I am glad there is still people out there have enough heart and can make time to fulfill someones dream that otherwise would not come true. I hope everything works out for the best and the boy can enjoy his hunt and get a nice trophy. Good job guys, i wish there was some way i could help, i am not in a position to offer anything other than support. Unless he needed some hunting clothes or something of that nature that i already have and can afford to let go. Let us know. DC

Re: Please Help out this terminaly ill young man
First I'd like to say that your a BIG MAN for doing this! I'm a long ways away but let me know if I can help.
I'm not familiar with Hunt of a Lifetime but it's great what they are doing. Is this going to be televised? I'm wondering this because we have a good friend on this forum who just happens to have a running TV show. I'm sure Gary Roberson would be willing to put this on the tube if it worked out. I think it would be great to show houndsmen doing something good for a change. We get alot of negative light and things like this could only help.
God Bless all involved!

Re: Please Help out this terminaly ill young man
Shorty,
Thanks for your kind words, this is the least that I can do for this young man. We do not have anyone currently committed to video this hunt. That would have to be ok'd by HUNT OF A LIFETIME. I know you are far away to be assisting in the Hunt but you are sure welcome if you can or you can even help us raise some monies to buy his tags and gear needed to make this hunt as enjoyable as possible. Anyone wanting to Donate and or help us gather monies, It would be a great help by those that are to far away to assist manually. My address is 4020 stockton hill rd. Kingman, AZ 86409. You can mail it here.

Kevin,
Would more BassPro gift cards help at all? Do you need other areas taken care of first? I'm sure I can help out somehow. Hell if it gets down to it and need foot soldiers let me know. I may be in need of a road trip!

Re: Please Help out this terminaly ill young man
Guys and Gals, I just spoke with Kevin and this is a great chance for us to walk the walk of the talk we talk. We can help a terminally ill teen that wants to hunt a lion realize that dream. We can uplift the spirits of his entire family by making this happen.
I don't know if I should post this or not, but the teen was supposed to go on a hunt last year, but the hunter that was to take him had to back out at the last minute. This may be this teens last chance to go on a hunt as he has leukemia. All it takes from us is a small amount of time and/or resources to make this a true hunt of a lifetime.
Kevin is going to post a list of items that are needed. I know gift cards have been mentioned and they are a great idea, but lets not forget that the USPS has flat rate shipping boxes that a lot of items this boy might need would fit into and they're only around $10.00 for any weight. As long as it fits, it ships!

Re: Please Help out this terminaly ill young man
Thank you to all for the support and I want to second what Zach has said and this may be the last chance this young man has to go on a Lion Hunt. Please help out what ever way you can. Here is a list of items that are in need still.
Lodging before and after hunt-Donated
Camo - I will have sizes ASAP
Gloves-
Boots-
Knife-
Tent-
Sleeping bag-
Cot-
Therma rest-
Back Pack-
Binos-Donated
Bino Buddy-Donated
Taxidermy-
License and Tag-Donated
Air Fare-
Rifle-Donated
I know this sounds like a lot of stuff, but if we can all pitch in it will be easy to accomplish. If it is easier to send money or gift cards I will be going to Las Vegas to bass pro when time gets closer to pick u the things we have not gotten yet. If you know anyone in the sporting good industry it is a lot easier to get them to donate product rather than money, we will take the product too. Guys/Gals I know that times are tough but I would have to say not many of you have it as tough as this kid and his family we can all make a difference in thier lives with as little as 20 dollars. Thank you
