Sunday afternoon we were hunting around nephi on the west nebo unit,
Seen a male lion on the back of a 4 wheeler that maybe went 75 pounds
If this is a little of what is to come were all in trouble

It will for sure tell how many houndsmen or how many killers there are. It doesn't look good for the houndsmen.

It's not just Utah...a guy on another forum posted a picture of a 10 month old female(aged by game and fish) he had shot in Arizona without the aid of dogs. From the atta boys he got on the forum, you would have thought he harvested a record trophy. Of course lions are responsible for the total decimation of deer herds in the west, so that means they should be killed like rats. It's hard to fight ingrained ignorance. If it was up to me, I would require lion hunters to enlist the aid of hounds/houndsmen to harvest a lion. I don't know of any other way to prevent the killing of females with kittens.

The boys down south are after it again too. even guys that I spoke with all year about changin our ways put the smack on some 60 pounders on the first snow! unreal!!!

It happens everywhere, last year a guy WITH dogs shot a kitten and he was just as happy as a puppy with two peters, some people just dont understand there messing it up for everybody.

When they did all this harvest garbage they should have limited the guides to how many they could take in the year. The ones here have no morals at all.

Guys I have no idea what the answer is but more laws is not the answer. The more government control there is in hound hunting the easier it is to take away. The less we give them to control the more freedom we keep. JMO.

With our 65 lion quota and 28 female quota it wont take to long to make them extinct. The bad thing is all the people killing bitches and kittens barely out of spots that obviously dont appreciate the sport will get rid of the dogs and find something else to occupy them while all of us that love it will be screwed.

thats why they have CAMERAS. take a picture of the baby in the tree that your dog treed. i am new at this and i have not treed a lion yet but i will tell you this much i am not goin to harvest a kitten or female. people like that just make me fightin mad because they are goin to ruin it for everybody that loves to watch their hound work. i have a son that i want to pass this hound gig over to when he gets older and we both enjoy it.

But when they kill all the cats I heard bears eat fawns when there all gone we can start on the eagles.
Rabbits eat sage we can kill all them then bobcats and so on till were hunting deer ticks and still the deer will be mismaneged

I've never hunted lions before but i'm hoping to this winter here in colorado or new mexico. I don't get why somebody would want to kill a small one or a female. I personally would hold out for a tom that is a good representation of the species. Like culling dogs, can we cull some of these moron hunters that would rather shoot everything that moves than shoot it with a camera instead and let it live to be run another day.
