cat hide stretching question

Anybody on here stretching there cats with the legs left on inside? Was told by the guy who baught my cats last year thats how he prefers them and that more and more buyers are liking them that way.

Tube skin with the legs pushed back in once finished . Not sure if he wants feet left on also but I've gotten better prices for them when left on

Are you talking about the front legs? Most furbuyers I spoke with last year at the sale told us, they prefer the "Nevada Stretch" which we started using this year and I really like it myself. I bought a video from Mercer Lawing which shows how he works cats up and we pretty much use the same methods with a little tweaking.

Yes I'm talking about the front legs. Stretched just like the neveda stretch but with the front legs left inside instead of dried up towards the face.

I haven't been on here much this winter but I did stretch all my cats with the fon legs left in. I did better than average on saleing them and I was pleased with the way they came out. Here is a picture of the first batch I put up.

I would do as your buyer likes he is the one who is paying you. Mercer Lawing is amazing he puts up and sells more cats then just about anyone I know of right now he must be doing something right.

Jason, nice job. I had an above average on cat prices also sold some for more than I ever have. I Have never left the front legs tucked in but have in the last few years been trimming them shorter. Andy

hey jason , from left to right the 2nd , 4th, and 6th cat have a pattern on there belly like a 6 on dice . were they from the same drainage . just wandering if they could be related.

It depends on the buyer. I have always left mine in. Most of the top dollar cats are done with the leg out and flat.The top cats at the Klamath Falls sale were done that way. Dewey

I had a buddy go to the Klamath falls sale and he got a chance to ask a fur buyer some ?'s. The buyer had said he liked the legs out and flat. This let the buyer know that those front legs were completely dried. Again I would just think its a personal preference for each buyer. Kyle

I hunted 2 main areas and you could tell which cats came from where. The backs are even easier to tell. These nine where my first batch and sold to a buyer with these pictures. I put up 3 more and sold to the same buyer a few weeks later. Our conditions were so hit and miss this year I put them up through the winter instead of waitiing until season closed like I have in the past.
