Re: hounds in alaska?
I've spent a couple of months each year in Alaska since 96 and I've never heard of anyone running hounds up there. After you've been there and seen the country, horrible undergrowth and lack of any way to get around, you'll see why there are very few houndsmen up there. Not to mention brown bears that would be pretty hard on your dogs.

From what I've heard they area it is allowed in is small and very few roads, I think there is a member on here that lives in AK, I would do a search for Alaska and his posts should come up

You cant run a damn thing but a black bear in certain areas. I already checked. Dont remember about rabbits. I have family up there. I would already be there if you could run the dogs. I corresponded with a couple guys on here and they say hell yes its great except for the coldest parts of the winter. Then you ask fish & wildlife and they say absolutely not with the exception of a black bear.
