best food for a pregnant female

what's the best food recipe for a female that's making pups. Right now i'm feeding deer meat and normal dog food mixing them half and half

I start feeding puppy chow for a month before breeding and all the way though her nursing the pups I end up with the prettiest fattest pups

I feed Iams puppy food as well- one part puppy food to two parts regular dog food. I also add one cup cooked beef and an egg once daily. Egg whites have the purest source of albumin known to man and help the mother and the pups considerably.
