big belly b&t

I have a b&t male that is a real easy gainer and i have to be careful with his diet but i started to see it looked like he was getting a belly but wasn't that fat so had a vet look at him and he thinks it could be liver cancer.Does this sound right or has any one had something like this in there dogs.He eats good and shows no pain but today he didn't what to hunt that's no like him.I hope its wrong but i guess we will see hope it is something less serious.Any ideas thanks

Yes he has been done regularly.

Did they do any blood work and if so give you any of the values? There are certain values on a chem panel that might indicate liver damage or disease. Liver disease can definantely cause a fluid filled abdomen that can have a pot-bellied appearance.

yes i get the blood work back tomorrow morning they now think it could be fluid from a hole in the stomach maybe i have him on anti's but it dosen't look great.

I would think if he had a ruptured stomach or hole in his intestines that he would be sick as hell. How long a duration has the pot-bellied appearance been going on for, did you kind of notice it over night or was it something that came on gradually? When they get the blood/chem panel back ask for a copy and let me know.

ok they are doing more tests and i will get the paper work monday morning the drugs are helping he is eating and walking around now.they said it could also be a broken abses or ulser i guess i will wait and see.
