beardogger don't know if I should put this or not as every time I have posted it or told someone I get ridiculed, but here it goes anyway.LOL
I have personally seen one, damn near ran it over with my log truck.Just think how rich I coulda been if I would've zigged instead of zagged.LOL Anymore I really don't care if anyone believes me or not.I know that what I was staring into the eyes of was real and not a costume. And believe me I have pondered why especially lion hunting haven't we found tracks?I really don't know.Possibbly they migrate(mule deer do),maybe they hibernate(this thing was huge).I run it over and over in my mind, but it has been brought up before that if someone kills one and it is found to be of the genus Homo you could be charged just as you killed a human. After I made the comment to my father-in-law(who was Indian) that maybe I wished I would have hit it he told me of the native belief that if you kill one it is its mates then goal in life for revenge(don't need to be lookin over my shoulder in the woods LOL)

I'm the kind of guy that would have to see something like that to believe it but I have heard a few sounds in the woods at night that I can't explain and it creeped me out.The worst one was something that sounded just like a woman wailing or screaming in fear.I was listening for my hounds in the dead quiet about midnight and heard the sound quite close.I thought about going to investigate but I was by myself and I chickened out.Anybody know what kind of critter might make a sound like that ?

I have heard some strange sounds in the woods at night as well. But I knew what was making the sounds. Lions can make some screams and such that sound like someone dieing in agony they only do this during mating. Also foxes can make some screams that sound like someone in pain not nearly as loud as a lion but these are mating sounds as well. Coutimondi can sound like monkeys and if you get a whole troop going its realy spooky.

As for Bigfoot I have not spent enough time in realy deep nothern woods to say one way or another... but sure would think with all the people trapsing about in the woods these days we would have a good picture at least by now. A point to think about is how little habitat is left that could hide something like a bigfoot... and its shrinking. If there was something out there it could have just died out without anyone ever seeing it... get one bad year and a small population of animals either has to move to beter feed or die. Ofcorse we have not found any bodies... but I have also seen a decent sized bear around 200lbs reduced to scattered bones in less than a week, not saying how it died...

One time I was elk hunting and thought I heard a woman being attacked over the ridge....I prepared myself for what I might find...wondered if I was ready to shoot someone if I had to....walked over the ridge to where I heard the sound....nothing...I was standing there looking when all of the sudden....the sound was right above my head....wasn't no woman...well two legged anyway. Was a tree full of porcupines and one of them was gettin a little. Dunno if it was the male or female that was making the noise, but dang sure sounded just like a woman screaming.

i have had discussions with people that had first hand encounters with sasquatch.
crazy as heck, i know! do they exist? maybe- maybe not. i want to believe they exist but i have never seen one, and i think id rather not see one.

when my redbone was a pup

I had him at a dog run in the city and he "treed" a window washer on a scaffolding several stories up! Sure made all the passersby laugh!

I once followed up on a noise that sounded like a woman being attacked and found a snake had swallowed half a frog, feet first. The front half of the frog was still hanging out of the snake's mouth and the frog was making the loudest, most un-frog-like sounds you can imagine. The snake was just going on about its business like there was nothing annoying about the frog's protests. Wasn't in any hurry to swallow that frog. I tossed the both of them over a ledge to get them a little farther away because they were so loud I couldn't hear anything else.

I doubt that there are any for-real sasquatches, but who knows what people are seeing that leads them to think they've seen one. I did talk to a professor once about using my hounds to trail at scenes of sightings, but he lost his job and moved away shortly thereafter. .
