Wyoming wolves. This very well may help the hound hunters here out A LOT, emphasis on A LOT. A fellow I bought a dog from mid last year had 3 (ALL) of his hounds killed in March this year. I'm glad somebody has FINALLY decided that they have become a problem by not allowing the population to be regulated at all. Might not work, but when they're saying they only want 100 wolves or 10 breeding pairs outside of the park and we have 500 outside of the park id say we have a small dilemma. JMO

I had two dog killed by wolves. I am glad the tide is finally changing, I know the local fish and game folks are tired of them too.

Thats real good news for you guys but I hope you have some damn good trappers, lots of them, or can find a way to legalize strychnine because you have your work cut out for you.

Well there are enough pissed off people i dont think puttin a whoopin on em will be too big of a deal. Gettin it down to the number they want might be hard after a while but i guarantee there will be a LOT of vacation days taken when it happens.

You fellas in the states where they will be opening up a trapping season all need to get together and work as a team and get someone down that way who can do a couple workshops on wolf trappin, something more than G&F requires for getting a license.
he first few are going to be easy but without proper training alot of wolves are going to get educated if there are guys out there just hanging snares and settin traps and it is going to make them harder to catch in the future.
The trappers and houndsmen need to comunicate with each other and share information as to where you see wolves and wolf sign.
Together you can kill a passell of them....let the trappers know where your lion hunting most of the time and the trappers need to let you lion hunters know where they are trapping so you don't get hounds caught, but you can help kill wolves by tellin the trappers were you unload hounds and give them the used straw from your hound boxes...get workin together now and you'll be surprised at how many hides will be in the skinin shed this winter and your hounds will have that much less to worry about..
They can not resist that spot where you unload your hounds so if your in an area and you know there is a trapper work it get together and let your hounds make a few good sites for him to put some steel in the hills.

Valid point. Although i dont see that happening, it would be the ideal way to go about this. In and around my area the hound hunters i know dont like each other that much because they see each other as competition. Cant speak much for the trappers, dont know that many of them. I try not to know a whole lot of people so i keep the target off my back Who knows, maybe everybody will pitch in and make a game plan, it would be a lot more efficient.

I was just informed by a reliable source that there will be no trapping season on wolves. The only people that will be trapping them is the govt trappers for damage control and collaring.

Seems that the worst wolf problem has not caught the interest of houndsmen, that being
"wolf hytadid disease" as openly explained at saveelk.com, especially outlined by a dr giest. The disease has spread to deer, elk,fox , coyote and all canines, not to mention humans who have cyst on thier internal organs. It`s spreading wildly and, in spite of all the information available, not being taken seriously.., A huge mistake.
