a idea for a foot snare

i was reading a book that take about makeing a foot snare and i was wonding if anyone has heard of this you make a diart hole set but insted of a leg trap you put the snare lop overe the bit hole
has anyone heard of this
it was for songdogs but would it shound like it would worke for fox
