Sport Dog Hound Hunter E-collars?

So I bought the sportdog hound hunter e-collars. I am not impressed. They are supposed to be a 2mile unit. I'll bet mine don't reach 1000yds if there is any timber.

Do any of you have any suggestions? Are there any antennas that help it reach further?

Are tritronics units much better?

I love my tritronics. I think they will all probably claim a little more range than they really have (just like the gps units), but all in all I'm very impressed. I have only had one issue, and it's with a collar that a dog chewed up. It still works, the tracer light just comes on when a dog gets shocked!
