Thanksgiving Hunt 2

Post by savagman »

Thinking that sticking my head in the cave wasn't too smart but what was in there?

I can now hear jaws popping and scoot back out of there pretty quick. Dogs go back in so I have to wait for the dust to settle again.

I remember that I have a camera in my pack. Perhaps the better flas will capture the mystery quarry...

Javalina! Very nasty on dogs in a cave with limited mobility ;)

Yeah it makes you quit selective about which holes you enter I used tohave a real difficult time pulling a dog out of a hole if I wasn't absolutely sure what was in it. Now I kinda watch the dogs and if they're wounded look at that to help decide if they're just feeling trashy. Its a real easy thing to get your hounds in to the habit of checking holes and if you have a few that like a fight they can get to be hole hunters as most of the time they'll find something in those holes . Don't encourage it just know they sure won't leave a lion cornered in one they like to be able to bark right in their ear eye to eye I've noticed it tends to get their blood up and makes for a interesting time
